so settle in for a god damned dissertation. I would very much like to make this a succinct, easily digestible post, but frankly i just don't see that happening in a way that can even hope to help anyone that doesn't have EXACTLY my car and my sound system. This is after an entire night of googling every possible combination of keywords i could think of, trolling countless forum posts, and ultimately cobbling together a solution based on little bits of advice here and there, so i apologize in advance if this explanation runs a little long. After all that searching and no luck finding anyone else that could serve up any kind of working solution, i felt obligated to share this somewhere, but bear in mind, this is absolutely NOT an easy fix. If you use the Music app, this limitation does not appear to apply and I think it will see the content of both USB drives at the same time, but I stand to be corrected on this.įurther details on formatting large drives using FAT32 can be found by searching for FAT32 Format, unfortunately I cannot post a link as I do not currently have enough posts.Īnother useful utility that allows you to order your music files alphabetically, otherwise they appear in the order they were copied to the USB drive, is DriveSort, this can be found by searching for Anerty's Lair DriveSort.I found not what i would call a fix for this, but definitely a workaround for those who do not want to root I'm sure if you rooted and knew what you were doing a little better, there's an infinitely better way to go about this. Note that there is a limit on the number of files (65535) and folders (700) for each USB drive that appears to be a limitation of the Honda Connect Audio player if you have more than 700 folders, which I initially did, you will not be able to play them all as they do not appear on the screen. I currently have two 128GB drives in my Civic Tourer. If you want to use a USB drive greater than 32GB you will not be able to format it with FAT32 using Windows, but you can download a utility called FAT32 Format which is very simple to use and allows drives greater than 32GB to be formatted using FAT32. I am not sure about the 10G Civic, but it appears to be FAT32 for the Honda Connect in the facelift version 9G.
